I live in NY now and work for ABC News...It's awesome!
craolyn asked: Hi! I was recently admitted to NEU and im wondering about the social life on campus. I have read a few reviews that say the student body is not much of a community and people just go about their own ways rather than being a collective group of students. Is this true? / what has your social experience at NEU been like?
Hey there, great question! Social life at Northeastern is different than most other colleges because nobody (or rarely anyone) is ever on campus consistently for four/five years. People are always moving around on and off campus, across states and overseas for co-op/studying abroad.
That said, my experience was wonderful. In fact, I’m going to Boston this weekend to visit three of my close friends from FRESHMAN year. That’s four years ago. Crazy. But awesome.
At the end of the day, students at Northeastern love Northeastern and there’s no lack of social life. It’s a DIFFERENT kind of social life compared to other schools, but that’s what makes NEU unique. You’re always meeting new people, but you will form friendships that last through all the moves as well.
Hope this helps!
