Jackie's Journeys

Hi I'm Jackie! I graduated from Northeastern University in 2013 with a B.A. in Journalism and this is the Official Student Blog for the College of Arts, Media & Design.

I live in NY now and work for ABC News...It's awesome!

Speare!

Can anyone give me information on Northeastern’s speare Hall dorms ? Much appreciated.

I lived in Speare my freshman year (which was FIVE years ago now, eek!) and LOVED it. It’s centrally located and has been upgraded since I last lived there so it’s even better now!

Also, mail/packages are delivered in the basement of Speare which is super convenient bc you don’t have to worry about lugging any packages across campus like others who don’t have the luxury of living in Speare.

I hope you enjoy living there as much as I did! Enjoy every moment at Northeastern :)

Started at Northeastern, now I’m here.

Favorite thing about BostonThe feeling I get when I see the Pru in the skyline after I’ve been away from Boston for even a couple days.
Advice for incoming studentsAs a certain professor told me my freshman year, get out of your own way. The only obstacle to anything you want to do in your time at college is yourself.

It’s nearly been seven months since I started working at Nightline! Here’s a glimpse of my view in the control room.

Hey there! I wouldn’t fret, you’ve chosen an excellent school - your co-ops will definitely give you an edge when it comes to applying for jobs post-grad. It took me less than six months to get a job at ABC News in NYC of all places which is not a bad start for someone fresh out of college.
